The Virginia Campaign Against Reducing
Education Standards has been formed to
apply political pressure against the proposed
lowering of the standards for day care by
the Virginia Council for Day Care.  The effort
is lead by day care centers in Norfolk who
believe that lower standards will place many
of Virginia's children in harms way.

Lowering standards in Virginia is as easy as
having two VA commissions, not involved in
day care, accept the proposal and pass
muster at a public hearing tentatively set for
Febuary.  Political pressure can stop the 
proposal from being promulgated and alert
center administrators and parents to the 
sleeping dog that will effect their children's
well being.
